Ben received his BS in Bioinformatics with a focus in Genomics from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2013. During his undergrad he participated in a research program where he study genetic mechanisms associated with embryonic heart development and presented his work at two nation undergraduate conferences. In 2015, he worked as a research technician at Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Janelia Farma Research Campus where he helped annotate neural networks within the olfactory system of the common fruit fly.
Over the years, Ben has picked up a strong interest in the craft beer world applying his scientific background to his home brewing experiments in his free time. He enjoys anything outdoors from hikes with the doggo to paddling down some rapids.
