JY174 - Andechser

Rumored to originate from the renowned Andechs Monastery Brewery in Bavaria. JY174 is a classic bottom-fermenting lager yeast that delivers a clean, crisp fermentation with a rich, malt-forward profile. This strain produces minimal esters and sulfur, allowing the malt character to shine through with a balanced, smooth finish. Ideal for traditional German lagers. This strain does not like excessive pressure, so be mindful when you spund your fermentation (only when cooling and keep an eye on the pH).
